Milk production rate of these animals is maximum during their 4th lactation period. Murrah Buffaloes are noteworthy for their well built physical structure. These have long face and small head. Jet black in color, these have 8 inch long tail, smooth skin, inwardly curved body, large and drooping udders. Female buffaloes have around 450 kg weight and their average height is around 1.42 meter. Life span of this species of dairy animals is 12 years.
